Magwi County Member of Parliament or MP in the National Legislative Assembly on Monday disclosed that tensions in Nimule border town of Eastern Equatoria are due to dangerous rumours of looming attacks by purported Martin Kenyi forces intending to block Kampala-Juba movements.
Julius Moilinga told CRN that parliamentarians are in Nimule with state and county leaders addressing masses to avoid fear of the unknown, urging them to return home to access normal basic services including education instead of suffering.
He added that Nimule is gaining its calm and that residents are returning home from their hideouts in Uganda.
MP Moilinga reminded masses to tell the truth to set the nation free.
The parliamentarian challenged Nimule natives against running away to stay under trees instead of defending their land and steering up development of newly created administrative units.
He wondered why South Sudanese should be forced to run away as foreign nationals like Ugandans and Kenyans pour into the country.
MP Moilinga attributed the destabilizing rumours to some enemies of peace desiring citizens to run all the time, explaining that Nimule is a metropolitan booming town envied by preachers of disintegration rumours.
MP Moilinga likened Nimule rumours to early July tension between President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s and Central Equatoria Governor Clement Wani Konga’s guards.
