A female teacher in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal State is making a weekly gain of five hundred South Sudanese Pounds from table covers initiative out of her salaries.
Cecilia Edward Tom aged 35, who is supplying ministries and homes with table covers decorated with beats and other unique designs, told Voice of Hope that she started mending when she was in primary five, but learn beat invention last year.
She said she designs at least two sets in ten days depending on customers’ orders and sells each at 500 Pounds with 300 Pounds as her liquid profit.
Ms Cecilia said her new invention earns profits that enable her to treat children and pay their school fees, adding that the business is gaining popularity as many who admired her design look for her.
The teacher disclosed a plan to establish an industry in a stable covers business to train other women if she gets starting money in the future.
Ms Cecilia contended that table covers designs distant her from idle women who gather under cold shadows cracking unproductive arguments.
She said the work is less stressful because it is a self entertaining life skill business that needs no strike supervision.
Ms Cecilia showcased her products at the Career Affair at the state Education Ministry of Western Bahr El Ghazal in early November which attracted many students and live skill seekers.
She advised her fellow female teachers to embrace complimentary businesses that can top up their earnings to sustain their families.
