SPLM-N calls for prisoners of war fair treatment in Blue Nile

The Sudan Revolutionary Front faction of the SPLM-North called on the government of Khartoum to take good care of a soldier its forces captured in the recent fighting in Blue Nile.
 
SPLM-N spokesman Arnu Ngatullu Lodi urged the government to treat prisoners of war according to the Geneva Convention, Voice of Peace reported.
 
He said Hassan Awad was captured on Saturday in Abu-garn area 30km away from Damazin after their forces launched an attack on Friday in respond to the aerial bombardment of civilian areas of Challi and Yabus in Blue Nile.
 
The SPLA-N reportedly took control of a government forces’ garrison, northwest of Angasana hills for four hours before withdrawing after heavy counterattack.
 
Negotiations on cessation of hostilities in the Two Areas stalled and expected to resume soon.
