CYCLISTS RAISE FUNDS FOR WATER, HOPE FOR SUDAN

American cyclists ended a weeklong 670-mile cycling journey to raise money for clean water in the Diocese of Twic East in southern Sudan.

Episcopal Chuech of Sudan Twic East diocese is twinned with the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska, in the USA.

The event was organized by the Water of Hope Campus Church.

Waters of Hope is a ministry of young Episcopalians who are passionate about making a difference in the world and living into the church’s commitment to the Millennium Development Goals.

Mr. Slane noted that raising money for clean water affected maternal health, combating infectious disease and infant mortality rates.

The group raises money via churches and other sources. The bikers average 100 miles daily and spend the nights in local churches.
