The German parliament extended its military participation for a further year in the UN-led peace missions in Sudan while reducing their numbers considerably.

German soldiers integrate both UNMIS in South Sudan and UNAMID in Darfur.

The new mandate sets a limit of 50 German soldiers in Darfur peace keeping mission against the previous 250.

At the moment, eight German soldiers are participating in the UNAMID.

The new mandate for the UNMIS mission maintains 75 soldiers to supervise the CPA.
