Western Bahr El Ghazal State education ministry declared making sports and music compulsory lessons in schools in 2015.
Education Minister Michael Madut Chan disclosed that they are introducing compulsory sports’ lessons in primary and secondary schools, Voice of Hope reported.
He added that some teachers ignore sports in schools, urging them to value sports like other academic lessons.
Minister Madut also disclosed that the ministry would appoint teachers as coaches for all sports’ activities in the state.
He revealed a plan to train 60 students from each school on music and theatre skills, saying the trainees would be future musicians.
The minister was speaking during a closing day of careers workshop.
