Hakima Health Training Institute Principal in Hieban County of the Nuba Mountains told 138 community health workers’ grandaunts not to pretend to know drug prescription, but refer to advanced medical facilities.
In a graduation ceremony on Monday Ismail Dabura called on the passing out batch of health practitioners to take precaution when administering drugs.
Deputy Governor Suleiman Jabon hailed the grandaunts as liberation fighters and the right people to protect communities from various diseases.
He warned health workers against illegal purchase of medicines, describing it unacceptable practice.
The grandaunts paid oath of allegiance in the presence of high profile figures and community members that they would perform with professional health ethics in mind.
