A Clinical officer working in Rii-Yubu Payam of Tombura County in Western Equatoria State complained that his health centre is running out of drugs due to influx of foreign patients from the neighbouring villages of Central African Republic.
Joseph Jambo Wangi told Anisa Radio In a telephone that about 50 percent of Bambuti citizens crossed the border to seek health assistance in Rii-Yubu area.
He cited malaria, HIV/AIDS and respiratory infections as major diseases disturbing people in the payam.
Mr Jambo lamented that he receives little supply of drugs from Tombura County and that the influx of foreigners worsened the situation.
He mentioned that another challenge facing the health centre is lack of skilled medical personnel as the centre has only nine staff and 15 under in-service training.
Mr Jambo appealed to the state government to supply more health equipments and medicines to Rii-Yubu Payam.
Rii-Yubu Payam Youths Chairperson Cette Oliver Bandasi complained of bad roads obstructing local famers from accessing the markets.
