Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocesan Head Catechist on Friday appreciated the Christian communities for the wonderful contributions to assist catechists.

Gbiaundore Richard Diaborongba announced that on October 19, St Mary Yambio Parish donated 5,250 South Sudanese Pounds followed by St Bakhita Yabongo Parish with 3,162 Pounds with some food and non-food items, Anisa Radio reported.

He explained St Mary Tombura contributed 2, 144 Pounds, Namaku 1,122 Pounds; Naandi contributed 1,210 Pounds, adding that they got 903 Pounds and some food and non-food items from Yabua Parish.

Mr Richard said Ezo Parish contributed 891 Pounds, Li-Rangu 887 Pounds and that they received 712 Pounds from Yangiri and 605 Pounds from Rimenze Parish.

The Head Catechist disclosed that the remaining parishes did not yet submit their contribution reports.

Mr Gbiaundore said the contributions would boost the moral of catechists to continue doing their works happily as many of them do not get salaries to support their families, cannot afford transport means and their general dressing.

Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop Barani Edwardo Hiiboro Kussala dedicated October 19 of every year for the celebration of the good work of catechists, asking Christians to support them materially and spiritually.
