Community Empowerment for Progress Organisation or CEPO announced taking steps to investigate scholarship awards meant for Central Equatoria State students to study science and technology in the University of India.
CEPO Executive Director Edmond Yakani expressed concerns that the selection criteria favoured students from one county, marginalising others, Radio Easter reported.
He added that CEPO needs transparency and equitable, balanced distribution of scholarships’ opportunities through advertisement.
Central Equatoria Education Minister Hastin Yokwe argued that the ministry has no details of the scholarship and the selection criteria.
The CEPO Executive Director said out of 60 students selected for the Indian University scholarships, majority are from Kajo-Keji and Juba Counties.
