National Legislative Assembly members or MPs from Equatoria region petitioned President Salva Kiir Mayardit not to sign the National Security Service Bill into law due to legal implications.
Legislator Henry Odwar told CRN that the Security Bill passage by only 49 Members of Parliament was not procedural.
He criticized the Assembly Defence and Security Committee for illegal retention and working on the Security Bill even after 30 days of claimed passage.
The legislator said the rushed National Security Service Bill violates universal bill of rights and that international bodies are right to complain about it because South Sudan remains part of the world community despite its sovereignty.
MP Odwar disclosed that the National Legislative Assembly administration intimidated Equatoria lawmakers to sign subscription to the bill passage or show defiance position.
The legislator said Equatoria MPs vowed to die for the bill correction or remain in defiance to it.
