Yei River County and Municipality Authority on Monday carried out a joint operation and seized six boxes of marungi from five dealers with six motorcycles.
Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba said the operation against drug abuse including marungi, marijuana and dangerous alcohol and sex workers would continue, Radio Easter reported.
County Commissioner Bidali Cosmas Wori-Kojo warned that any person arrested in drug abuse business would be treated in accordance to the law.
He called on citizens to desist from drug abuse because to shun diseases especially mental illnesses.
Police Inspector Colonel Jeremiah Maker Nai appreciated the authority for carrying out the operation, adding that it would continue to ensure ending drug abuse.
The leaders called on citizens to report any case of drug abuse to authorities for early resolution.
