Sudan People’s Liberation Movement or SPLM registered three hundred thousand members in Eastern Equatoria State.
State SPLM Assistant Information Secretary Evelyn Lorot told Radio Emmanuel that the figures released show that Kapoeta East registered 90 thousand members, leading all counties of the state.
She said Magwi County the last with 13 thousand registered members.
Ms Lorot said the registration results were party of agenda for joint SPLM caucus held last Thursday in Torit town.
She cited a second agenda of the meeting as reviewing of the party contributions for the organization of the third convention due in January next year.
Ms Lorot observed the need to display the outcome of the registration as a collective responsibility of the caucus to mobilize people.
The Assistant Information Secretary explained that they focused on people interested in the party.
She discloses that the membership acquired through registration would be the criteria used for the selection of party flag bearers in the coming elections.
