Kenyan forces commemorate Heroes’ Day in Wau

Kenyan forces part of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS peacekeeping known as KENBATT 22 on Monday celebrated the Heroes’ and Medal Day in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal.
 
KENBATT Commander described the day as very important, aimed to member fallen heroes and heroines contributions’ to the independence of Kenya, Voice of Hope reported.
 
He appealed to the forces to keep the spirit of building peace around the world.
 
Western Bahr El Ghazal UNMISS Coordinator Winnie Babahuga appreciated the role KENBATT forces play in the state, describing it as a successful mission.
 
She thanked the Kenyan government for its great contribution in supporting peace in South Sudan.
 
Western Bahr El Ghazal government representative Lillian Rizig appreciated the Kenyan personnel for empowering some health institutions in the state, assuring government’s readiness to support the mission.
 
UNMISS Commander Youhans Tesfa-Maryam distributed medals to KENBATT personnel during the celebration.
