IGAD leaders’ summit convenes in Juba

The Press Secretary in the office of the President on Tuesday announced a day Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD leaders’ summit for four African leaders on Wednesday in Juba.
 
Ateny Wek Ateny said President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn are expected to discuss on how to speed up the process of peace in South Sudan.
 
The Press Secretary said the summit aims at ensuring that all peace processes lead into pulling out the country from the current political crisis.
 
He concluded that the meeting would discuss recent agreements between the SPLM factions in Arusha, Tanzania and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
 
The Press Secretary broke the news to the press at Juba International Airport while receiving President Salva Kiir Mayardit from Arusha, Tanzania.
