Yei Mayor on Friday issued a local order banning selling of fuel in jarricans or crystal containers to reduce the worrying fuel scarcity in the town.
Santo Paul Lasuba in the order Easter Radio obtained, said fuel is only allowed to clients in cars and motorcycles.
The Mayor urged petrol stations’ owners in the town to implement the order, warning that violation would prompt the police to take legal action against perpetrators.
Fuel shortage hit Yei, Juba, Yambio and other parts of the country in recent weeks resulting to increase in prices in black market and transport fees prices.
