Lainya County of Central Equatoria celebrated the World Food Day in Korobe Boma of Kupera Payam under the theme: ‘Feeding the world and caring for the earth’.
ZOA Project Coordinator Patrick Mabe said the international community and UN recognized the importance of the contribution of family farmers to the world food security, Easter Radio reported
He said ZOA works with other four NGOs to implement a number of projects in Lainya County.
Lainya Agriculture Assistant Commissioner Paul Lolole cited lack of transportation to the market as a big challenge facing farmers in Korobe.
In related story the County Executive Director Emmanuel Constantino chaired an ordinary sitting with the Councillors and Executive Directors to pass two bills of quantity: One for constructing and modifying Lainya County Headquarters and the second for constructing Freedom Square.
