South Sudan Law Society Legal Aid Attorney in Lakes State urged citizens to follow legal procedures while dealing with land disputes.

Ayuen John Marial told Good News Radio on Friday that many citizens were ignorant of their rights and legal procedures related to land.

He advised citizens to take legal procedures provided by Land Act rather than resorting to violence.

Mr John also advised citizens to approach Lakes State Law society for free legal aid services on land disputes.

He revealed that some people control several pieces of land with excuse that they belonged to their family members.

The Law society official spoke during a one-day stakeholders’ workshop that included Physical Infrastructure Ministry, Rumbek Central County, Land Authorities and South Sudan Land Alliance.
