Western Equatoria Governor on Monday advised citizens to pay taxes to right authorities in the state.
Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro said that the government tax people to offer services to the same citizens including good security and other infrastructures, Anisa Radio reported.
He mentioned that Nzara-Ringasi road was rehabilitated with taxes State Revenue authority collected and that soon they would repair Faraksika Rasulu road with the same revenue.
Governor Bakosoro cautioned some individuals in the government against pocketing taxes meant for public services leaving citizens in a total dismay.
State Finance and Planning Minister John Russi disclosed putting in place a strong mechanism to educate people about the taxes collection, calling on payers not to accept unrecognized receipts.
State Revenue Authority Director General Lawrence Wanga Bilali appreciated the government and the business community for supporting the construction of their new branch at Masiya Market.
The speakers were talking at the opening ceremony of State Revenue Authority Branch office at Masiya Market in Yambio.
