South Sudan Development Organization Program Officer on World Teachers’ Day celebration in Yei on Tuesday urged citizens to build latrines at their homes to avoid outbreak of water born diseases.

Mawa Seme Manasseh warned that any relaxation to maintain clean sanitation including open defecation, lack of hand washing, drinking dirty water would cause cholera or Ebola.

He said education of the masses on maintenance of safe water and clean sanitation is a collective responsibility of citizens, government and development partners.

The Program Officer said the organization is supplementing efforts of county and municipal authorities through provision of safe water, hygiene and health information.
