ECSSS bishop ordains 30 deacons into pastors in Lainya

The Bishop of Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan at Saint Lazarus Cathedral in Lainya Diocese on Sunday ordained thirty deacons pastors after two-week training.
 
Bishop Elioba Loku Obed said the ordination was to empower the deacons to offer better leadership for better services delivery and progress of the Church, Easter Radio reported.
 
He stressed the need for the church to become self-reliant by developing its local workers to achieve the needed developmental tasks of the church.
 
Bishop Loku appealed to pastors to work hard to change the life of the Christian community in the diocese spiritually and morally.
 
County Commissioner Huda Micah Laila expressed government’s readiness to work with the church to support citizens and end divisions.
 
She donated 2,000 South Sudanese Pounds to help church run its activities.
 
One of the pastors Sunday Edward voiced out their happiness for the ordination.
 
The new pastors would be deployed to various parishes of Lainya ECSSS Diocese.
