Agriculture Advisory Organization in collaboration with Yei County Agriculture Department on Friday trained farmers from 12 cooperative societies on post harvesting, handling and management.
The Organization Director Clement Metaloro said the training was to equip farmers from Lasu, Otogo and Mugwo Payams with skills on post harvest handling and management to produce quality grains in the market to earn them income, Easter Radio reported.
County Agriculture Assistant Commissioner Edmond Taban Gogo urged the participants to train their fellow farmers in their respective cooperatives.
He commended the Organization for training farmers to improve in productivity.
Farmers’ representative Jenifer Jamba said the training helped them so much in storage, harvesting and production.
She recalled that customers used to neglecting buying their produce because they beat and harvested them in poor method.
GIZ in partnership with World Food Programme in Yei funded the five-day training.
