Authorities of Lasu Payam in Yei River County demarcated Mitika Market in an effort to boost marketing and rural development.
Payam Director Sokiri Sube Sokiri told the media that the demarcation was to develop Mitika area, adding that residential plots would be allocated to people around the market to realize the vision of taking towns to the people, Easter Radio reported.
He said they are working hand in hand with the Community Development Committee for similar expansions in other highly populated areas of Lasu and Libogo.
Lasu Payam is located west of Yei town at the South Sudan’s border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
