South Sudan Catholic Bishops in their four-day meeting in Juba demanded continuous dialogue as an amicable solution to the country’s crisis and an end to counter accusations between the warring parties.

Yei Catholic Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe told Christ the King English congregation on Sunday that they would continue calling for peace through dialogue, Easter Radio reported.

He lamented that the ongoing war and continued violation cessation of agreement would not help the country.

Bishop Lodu said the meeting commended IGAD, international community’s efforts in the ongoing peace talks, priests and religious people working in Malakal, Unity and Jonglei states.

He argued that peace is needed for other political grievances to be addressed to avoid loss of more lives and displacement.

The bishops presented their message entitled: ‘War is evil; war cannot bring peace, this war must stop’ on Friday in Juba.
