Western Equatoria women elect leaders

Western Equatoria women on Friday gathered at Yambio Cultural Centre for a one-day conference to re-organize their Union and elect new leaders under the theme: ‘May your dream come true’.
 
Each County selected 12 voters to elect the State General Women Union executive including chairlady, Secretary-General, Information and Finance Secretaries, Anisa Radio reported.
 
They elected Christine Ngbaazande from Yambio County chairlady deputized by Rhoda Elisa Taata from Maridi and Victoria Hiipaingba of Ezo was elected Secretary-General assisted by Mariam Badi from Ibba County.
 
Anna Lawa of Mundri East County was elected Finance Secretary and Miniala James from Maridi became Information officer to be assisted by Mariam John from Ezo County.
 
South Sudan General Women Union chairperson Sarah James appreciated Western Equatoria women for a peaceful and democratic election.
 
State Acting Governor Gibson Bullen Wande advised women to avoid corruption, tribalism and segregation in the Union.
