South Sudan Catholic Bishops on Friday concluded their four-day meeting in Juba urging the warring parties to negotiate in good faith, demanding them to stop war for people to live in peace in the young country.

Archbishop of Juba Paolino Lukudu Loro who presented the Bishops Message of Hope entitled ‘WAR IS EVIL; WAR CANNOT BRING PEACE; THIS WAR MUST STOP’, called on all political leaders, military officers and individual soldiers to avoid killing.

He lamented that the impact of the crisis was huge in South Sudan and has damaged the country’s image, creating humanitarian tragedy and re-traumatizing people.

Archbishop Lukudu said the Bishops condemned tribalism, nepotism and corruption challenging political leaders in both sides to render services to citizens of South Sudan.

He warned that ethnicity became a negative issue throughout South Sudan societies.

Archbishop Lukudu on behalf of South Sudan Catholic Bishops questioned citizens whether they have the will to renounce violence, compromise and to bring peace to the new nation.
