Schools in Raja resume after students went rioting at the County Education office breaking tables and chairs after some teachers were screened out affecting learning process.

Western Bahr El Ghazal Education Minister Michael Madut Chan said Raja schools are now operating normally as they seek to recruit 80 primary and secondary teachers to fill the vacuum left after the screening, Voice of Hope reported.

He condemned students’ riot, urging them to learn how to present their demands through peaceful demonstration rather than rioting to destroy available limited infrastructures.

The Minister clarified that the screening was not intended to dismiss teachers, but to ensure that proper appointment for gratuity claims in future.

He added that teachers with proper files would be reinstated as the ministry needs more instructors.

Minister Madut disclosed that teachers appointed would be distributed to the three counties and Commissioners shall cooperate with the Ministry for accommodation.
