Yei River County Gender Child and Social Welfare Assistant Commissioner on Tuesday urged parents to report cases of child abuses including early marriage to the police for better justice and action.
Victoria Nasera Augustine criticized some parents for resolving cases of early marriage at the family level in fear of stigma over the abuse, Easter Radio reported.
The Official argued that some parents do not report child abuses to police because perpetrators were released and left to move freely in the town and villages after few days without proper justice in the custody.
Ms Nasera appealed to the police administration to try knocking at the doors of the Commissioner, Mayor and the Executive Director to get support for cases raised by vulnerable people.
The official warned parents against resolving child abuse cases at the family level without reaching the police, an act which encourages more abuses and complicate the justice system.
