PUPILS URGE GOVERNMENT TO IMPROVE EDUCATION

Pupils urged the government to improve the quality of education in the region through more schools, free education and better teachers.

Three young students from various schools in Juba gave SCR News their views on how the government should improve education in south Sudan.

Catherine Philip from Juba One Girls School said she wanted the government to build better schools and improve the quality of education in the region.

Emmanuel Lemi from Ephather Basic School urged the government to build more free schools to cater for children from poor families as well.

Sofia John from Libya Basic School said the government needed to employ qualified teachers.

She explained that poorly prepared teachers were misleading pupils with wrong the information.

The pupils lamented lack of proper services to school teachers including regular salaries.

They asked provision of services like water points and health centres in their schools.
