Yei County leadership and scouts on Saturday launched a sanitation campaign starting with cleaning Yei Civil Hospital.
County Scout Assistant Commissioner Nathaniel Yacub Tira said it was the fourth time that the scouts are cleaning the town, appealing to county and municipal leaderships to cooperate, Easter Radio reported.
County Commissioner Bidali Cosmas Wori encouraged citizens in the payams and the municipality to keep their environment clean because sanitation is a collective responsibility to avoid outbreak of diseases including cholera.
Yei Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba commended the scouts’ unity spirit, being anti-tribalism and commitment to positively change Yei through constructive activities.
The Mayor believes the union of scouts would develop good and hardworking leaders.
