UBG announces start of academic year despite destruction

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Bahr El Ghazal announced the start of the new academic year for its students despite the destruction fire caused in the institution early this week.
 
Samson Wasara said the University senate decided that students having supplementary would start their exams on October15 and lectures for the academic year 2014/2015 commend on December 1, Voice of Hope reported.
 
Dr Wasara explained that the University of Bahr El Ghazal is sending twelve staff especially teaching assistants for master degree studies to curb lecturers’ shortages.
 
He added that staff development especially female remains a priority to stabilize the institution.
 
Dr Wasara lamented that the death of a senior chemistry professor Samuel Banja created a vacuum in the University.
