Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly chaired by the Acting Speaker Paul Napwon on Wednesday approved 2014/2015 fiscal year budget to the tune of 21.7 million South Sudanese Pounds.
The legislators endorsed the draft budget unanimously after MP Agnes Lox moved a motion and MP Cypriano Peter Lokale seconded it, Emmanuel Radio reported.
Ad hoc Committee Secretary Ben Loki, who presented the draft budget, said the figure increased by 14.7 million Pounds compared to last year’s seven million Pounds budget.
He praised Governor Louis Lobong Lojore for advising the Assembly to budget for all its needs to prevent the executive from over spending.
The Ad hoc committee that drafted the state fiscal year 2014/2015 budget was formed in the fourth opening session of the Augus House.
