Murahatiha, Tirangore maintain Segere peace accord

Communities of Murahatiha and Tirangore villages sustained peace agreement signed on July 26 at Segere border area of the two villages.
 
Nyong Community Chairman Eddie William who mediated the dialogue among the two villages after bloody conflict observed that they followed their promises, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He said the two sides compiled lists of suspects of the conflict with some culprits pleading guilty after interrogation and they accepted to compensate victims.
 
Mr Eddie disclosed that one list in the first phase contains 15 suspects from Murahatiha while that of Tirangore has 20 names of suspects.
 
He noted that some complainants declined to mention suspects linked to the death of their relatives because they intend to revenge.
 
Mr Eddie observed that only few individuals declined to appear before the suspects’ verification committee, calling for peaceful resolution to conflicts in Torit County.
