Western Bahr El Ghazal new Police Commissioner reported that three million South Sudanese Pounds for paying June salaries of all his forces in the state went missing before he assumed the office.

General Peter Mading Malual who took office last week, holds his predecessor Akot Deng Akot and accountants responsible, saying they have to be investigated, Voice of Hope reported.

He clarified that he is only responsible for July salaries which his forces already fully received.

The Commissioner advised his forces to remain calm while he channels their grievances through a peaceful means.

General Mading cautioned the police against taking the law into their hands, saying he is hopeful that the lost money would be recovered.

The Commissioner said police were paid June salaries in Aweil where in full, questioning why not in Western Bahr El Ghazal.

Voice of Hope could not reach the former Police Commissioner for commends.
