The director of a radio station being established in Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese said there was a high need of local radios in Western Equatoria.
Fr. Ignatius Mborihenga was recently appointed the Director of Anisa FM, a member of Sudan Catholic Radio Network.Fr. Mborihenga told SCR News that the diocese is struggling to install the radio station quickly to response to the needs of the local population in Yambio who are served by a government owned station and a relay from the UN radio.
Fr. Mborihenga explained that Anisa FM would be a major tool for evangelization in the Tombura-Yambio diocese.
He added a big portion of the population did not receive the word of God due to lack of priests and distances.
Fr. Mborihenga said his diocese was trying to put Anisa FM on air within the next three months.
He added that the transportation of equipment from Europe delayed the operation of the station that in Azande means “We are Together.”
