Nuba Mountains Secretary for Culture and Information condemned the Sudanese government for allegedly detaining National Umma Party or NUP Deputy Chairperson Miriam El Sadig El Mahdi.
Chatigo Amoja Delman said Khartoum regime was preventing political parties and members from expressing change demands, Voice of Peace reported.
He lamented that the regime is impolite and that it may expose NUP Deputy Leader to torture in detention.
Mr Amoja accused Khartoum’s ruling National Congress Party of being oppressive and discriminative.
He called on Sudanese youths in Khartoum and various parts of the country under government control not to be recruited into army to avoid fighting for the regime.
Dr El Mahdi was allegedly arrested on Monday after participating in the first face-to-face summit of NUP and Sudan Revolutionary Front leaders in Paris, France.
