A two-day church leaders’ meeting on Acholi and Ma’di peace process ended in Torit with a call for peaceful co-existence.

South Sudan African Inland Church Bishop Arkangelo Wani Lemi said the meeting was to reflect on their joint actions in order for a way forward, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He described the meeting as very important because they received reports that there was still bitterness in people’s hearts for them to have knowledge whether their coming together was fruitful to the two communities.

The Bishop said the committee would disseminate to the other people in their communities to peace messages to eradicate conflicts between the two societies.

He encouraged his fellow Bishops and pastors to use the pulpits and words from the Bible to spread peace messages to people of Magwi County.

The two-day meeting in Torit brought together church leaders from different denominations.
