Lakes State Governor called for calm and restrain from his family and clans-men following the assassination of the Paramount Chief Apereer Chut Dhuol.
Matur Chut Dhuol said during the burial of Chief Apereer that the assassination was an individual crime, urging his clan members not to take the law into their hands, but allow authorities to apprehend the criminal, Good News Radio reported.
He said if crimes were treated individually, innocent people would not die in revenge attacks that they had no knowledge of.
Governor Chut used the opportunity to remind citizens of Lakes State to surrender guns to the army and that the cause of many deaths in the state was due to the misuse of guns by unauthorized people.
Chief Apareer Chut was assassinated at his family house on Tuesday evening by an unknown gunamn.
