Tonj South County Commissioner in Warrap State on Monday survived an assassination from alleged Western El Ghazal Police ambush in Aluel-Agok area between Tonj and Wau.
William Wol Mayom explained that on Monday around six o’clock PM Western El Ghazal Police ambushed him in Aluel-Agok area and fired them with 20 bullets, Don Bosco Radio reported.
The Commissioner said they repaired Aluel-Agok road for three times which the people of West Bahr El Ghazal claimed belongs to them.
Mr Mayom said he arrested a sergeant who led the attempt to assassinate him.
The Commissioner urged Greater Tonj authorities and communities to stay calm because Western Bahr El Ghazal government would peacefully resolve the issue.
