Obstetric fistula Team leader confirmed that seventy women from Rumbek, Aweil and Western Bahr El Ghazal state were freed from fistula after one month operation at Wau Teaching Hospital.
Saied Ahmad told Voice of Hope that they targeted 100 patients, but lack of transport blocked out the other patients.
He said some cases were complicated due to long term suffering and were operated for two to three times.
Dr Ahmed advised the freed women to abstain from sex for six months to avoid further complications.
He added that women should go for antenatal care during pregnancy and deliver in hospital or any health facility to avoid fistula.
Dr Ahmed warned that fistula is caused by lengthen delivery process and traditional practices.
The next campaign is expected to take place in November.
