A Prison warden in Tonj South County of Warrap State on Thursday killed one man detained for fighting with relatives in Cueicok of Manyangok Payam.
Tonj South County Commissioner William Wol Mayom told Don Bosco Radio that the fighting erupted during dominos’ play in Tong village when the deceased and others were rounded up and taken for detention.
He said the detainees were three, attempting to escape from detention with argument that it a friendly fight among relatives.
Commissioner Wol narrated that the Prison Warden who is on the run shot one dead, but two others hid and escaped later unharmed.
He added that after the killing the warden ran and took his wife and the family to a hideout.
Mr Wol observed that incident was not intention, advising the family of the late not to revenge, but to stay calm.
The Commissioner said he already sent police to rescue the situation from escalating.
