Comboni Missionary Sisters in South Sudan and the Nuba Mountains are expected receive Sr Evette Ann Seib as new head to succeed Sr Giovanna Sguazza who is completing her three-year term of office on September 12.

Sr Ann who hails from America told CRN on Thursday that she feels a little scared to take over the new responsibility.

She hopes with the help of God, she would be able to manage the leadership of Comboni Missionary Sisters in South Sudan and the Nuba Mountains.

Sr Ann added that she hopes to be listening what South Sudanese and Nuba want to tell Comboni sisters and how to serve them better.

The Outgoing Superior Sr Giovanna said she feels relieved to hand over responsibility to Sr Ann, expressing confidence and trust in her leadership abilities and God’s guidance.

She urged the new leader to act justly, love tenderly and work with God’s people in South Sudan.

Sr Giovanna cited Catholic Radio Network started by Comboni family alongside Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference and Solidarity with South Sudan as one of the successes of her tenure in office.

She expressed delight in the progress of the Network and performance of young sisters in accomplishing the church and national growth.

Sr Giovanna said insecurity, risking war and managing over 50 sisters were obstacles in her leadership, posing concerns.
