5 people killed, 4 injured in Abyei

Abyei Community Chairperson in Juba said alleged Arab Militia group supported by Sudan Armed Forces or SAF attacked a cattle camp in Gokmou village South of Abyei killing five people, injured four others and looted over 100 heads of cattle.
 
Deng Mading told the press that the people killed included Manut Chol, Jel Bul, Jel Chang chol Deng Yua Larutok Mawien and two-year old Oyom Maluel.
 
Mr Mading urged the United Nations Security Council to protect its Resolution 2046 which calls for the withdrawal of all armed forces out of Abyei.
 
He said SAF soldiers are still in Difra and that they were harbouring the Militia resulting to recurrence of killing because nobody was held accountable for since the atrocities started in the area.
 
The Chairperson urged the UN Security Council and AU Peace and Security to investigate and hold perpetrators accountability for all atrocities in the Abyei area.
 
Mr complained that it was unfortunate that nobody was making any accountability or asking Khartoum government why it continues killing people of the area.
