Residents of Wuluturu of Nyongwe quarter council in Yei Municipality expressed dilemma over the breakdown of a bridge cutting connection to town.
Awule Athanasio said vehicles are unable to cross and rushing of the sick to hospital and transportation of goods to market impossible, Easter Radio reported.
He added that sometimes if it rains, some school children cannot cross even on foot.
Wuluturu headman Samuel Baba Luka said it was sad to transport a dead body on head because of the bridge collapse.
He added that it is difficult to rush sick persons or pregnant women to hospital.
Mr Baba revealed that over 18 thousand people are cut off from town following the collapse.
Yei Town Block Director Charles Andrea told communities to mobilize local resources and report to the government to repair the bridge.
