The situation in hostels of Upper Nile University has returned to normal after students went on strike.

On Friday, Upper Nile University students, in Malakal, refused to attend classes in protest for poor living conditions in the hostels they were lodged, Voice of Love Rado reported.

University students complained that their living conditions were deteriorating due to lack of food and poor sanitation.

Cooks went on strike and refused to cook after they stopped receiving incentives.

The striking students blocked Malakal’s main road from Suk al Kabir to the university.
