Central Equatoria Governor on Saturday officially opened Yei Civil Hospital Operation Theatre.
Clement Wani Konga gave a green light for the operation theatre as various traditional groups ululate and claps portraying happiness, Easter Radio reported.
Speaking during the ceremony, State Health minister Emmanuel Ija Baya said the theatre will serve the people of Greater Yei.
He said they are looking for a surgeon to work at the theatre in order to provide people of Morobo, Yei, Lainya and Kajo-Keji with surgical services.
Yei River County Commissioner Juma David Augustine expressed happiness for the completion of the facility that took him two years.
Catholic Diocesan Secretary-General Fr Emmanuel Lodongo Sebit, who blessed the facility, stressed the importance of trusting and hoping first in God to have mercy, strength, wisdom and healing for co-creators to render better services to citizens.
The officials spoke at Yei Civil Hospital on Saturday evening during the opening of the operation theatre.
