Emmanuel Radio staff on Monday commemorated five years broadcast anniversary by bidding farewell to the Director who is leaving to Nairobi, Kenya for further studies.

The Acting Director Lilian Ochoo called on her colleagues to continue committing to work in the absence of Fr Santino Lounoi, Emmanuel Radio reported.

She appealed to the staff to cooperate with Fr John Opi Severino who will oversee activities of the Radio as Assistant Director.

Fr Lounoi explained that Emmanuel Radio is a part of Catholic Radio Network of the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ conference’s programme.

He said the idea was conceived with objectives of evangelization, setting agenda for peace and development after signing Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

Fr Lounoi also listed other stations under the Catholic Radio Network in different states and dioceses in South Sudan and Nuba mountains.

He said Emmanuel Radio was set up in 2007, but the broadcast started on June 19, 2009.

The Emmanuel Radio five years broadcast anniversary commemoration was shifted to July 12 instead of June 19, 2009 to coincide with the farewell of the outgoing Director Fr Santino Lounoi.
