Central Equatoria Health Minister disclosed a plan to employ qualified health personnel from Uganda to work in the newly launched Morobo Hospital.
Emmanuel Ija Baya said they are training nurses, midwives, medical assistants, laboratory technicians and theatre attendants from various counties to uplift the number of health facilities, Easter Radio reported.
State Governor Clement Wani Konga revealed that they committed to construct Kinji Primary School in Yei and two boarding secondary schools: one in Terekeka and another in Lirya to address the precarious situation of girl child education in the state.
UNICEF Deputy Representative in South Sudan Ettie Higgins expressed happiness that Morobo would sustain a functional health system for other counties to emulate.
She said the children’s agency and the county leadership would work together to recruit competent health workers for the facility.
The speakers made their remarks when the state was celebrating the third independence anniversary under the theme: ‘One nation, one people’ in Morobo County on Friday.
