Inscrurity hinders SPLM registration in Lakes State

The ongoing inter-clan clashes in Lakes State are hindering the registration of SPLM members in various payams.
 
Addressing the third independence anniversary celebration on Wednesday in Rumbek, the SPLM State Secretary Mabor Ater Dhol said in June the party started to register members but security situation in many parts of the state affected the exercise, Good News Radio reported.
 
He said SPLM offices in counties were unable to register members to the party.
 
The Secretary called for a general reconciliation among fighting communities and proper judiciary system to allow SPLM do its work.
 
On the same occasion, the Acting State Legislative Assembly Speaker Nyail Enock Chahoc alerted that the looming insecurity hinders development.
 
He said many residents sleep in fear due to ongoing night cool blood killing and cattle raiding.
 
The Legislator urged Rumbek Central County Commissioner to deploy more forces to curb insecurity.
 
SPLM Woman League Representative Yar Kuc called for collective work to build the new nation, saying women play a greater role in building the ‘we feeling’ among South Sudanese.
 
She called on the entire public to support the provision of quality education to their children.
 
The third independence anniversary celebration which was coloured with traditional dances brought together many people to Rumbek Freedom Square on July 9.
