Tonj South County Commissioner in Warrap State returned the 42 Gok communities in Malonpac Payam of Cueibet County in Lakes State.
William Wol Mayom said executive chiefs and cattle keepers’ leaders came for the peace conference without informing him and Cueibet Commissioner, Don Bosco Radio reported.
He said he wanted first to consult authorities and communities of Greater Tonj on the conference to be a lasting peace to avoid future confusion.
The Commissioner said local peace conference could be done without Commissioners, but its implementation would be meaningless.
He added that communities that took refuge in Tonj South because of the ongoing conflict in their areas were Panyar and Agorcin.
Commissioner Wol urged the two counties communities to work for peace and reconciliation to realize development in the country.
